I am intrigued by this design - my first reaction was that it was harsh as it
began to fill in on my screen. But as soon as the transfer was complete, I began
to appreciate the nuance, the execution, the balance, the bright yellow
triangles of light. So, in a matter of seconds, I was drawn in and began to
smile. I really like this design, Mary. Thanks for sharing it with all of us!
Happy New Year!

Virginia, I am so amazed by all your talents and abilties. This beautiful
painting was so intensely eye-catching and what immediately came to mind was
that this is "The womb of creation". With it's two opened vortexes, I
saw how we are given choice points, as we move along our path to creation - like
a fork in a road, but with all choices ultimately leading to the same end and
with the same divine purpose.
Thank you so much for sharing your inspired work. I am having a great time
looking at all these amazing pieces of artwork and am wondering if any
altruistic artists out there would allow me to display their works (with
appropriate credit lines and links) on a website I'm looking to create in the
near future? Please email mail, if interested! I'd be so grateful!
With love and peace, Marion

Hi Mary,
You got the balls to go to the top is very clear to me. The colors of the
balls & arrow---Red, yellow & orange are the lower chakras fueling the
energy of the painting. Fueling the energy of the triangle to shoot up to never
before reached spiritual heights of truth & wisdom. This painting so clearly
speaks to me---I had to write right away!

I was very touched by your statement on the red velet and gold apple art,
about how scary it was to share more of your truth. The eternal gestating
feminine pours out of that work. This one with the upward arrow and two
"breasts" seems a mixture of male and female strength- Amazon like
from my female view. Perhaps this strength is what you discovered after you
spoke more of your truth?

Wild! Colorful! Decisive! I LOVE this piece - the colors and forms are clear
and full of creative energy. It feels Native American somehow - like the shell

of all that is bursting forth and radiating outward.
Thank you SO much, Nancy, for your gift. How stunning. I don't want to stop
looking at it. I also love the background of the whole pice as well. The
blending of the blue and the lavendar (at least on my screen) are quite the
contrast to the boldness of all that is emergin.

commentsAs I see this painting, it is a fish (bottom right hand corner) swimming through Pergatory on its way to heaven. For fish, as well as people, life is never easy. There are many obstacles, the cold waters of the ocean, predators, and the daily existence. But like humans, fish have their goals and desires. This fish is trying as hard as it can to reach its goal (heaven). From this photo, one can see that the fish has a long way to go to reach its goal. Behind this fish is someone looking over the fish. I like the painting!!!

commentsThis intrepid work, for me, symbolizes water, fire, freedom and passion. The balance of Greer's soul translates to canvass whenever she paints, but especially here. Fluid heat is tempered by the cooling blues.. Unexpected life issues, while often turbulent for all, are
extrapolated, thence arrested, through Greer's freedom of direction and color. While the painters safe haven is the confines of their canvass; Greer has allowed us to peek inside her world by going beyond the edge, enabling us to share the essence of her courage.

commentsHaving just returned from southern Maine and it's ocean, this drawing to me reflects the beckoning nature of the ocean and it's waves. I see a sea gull at the top of the drawing swooping down toward the ocean, does it see a fish jumping??? Possibilities, refreshment, but also stepping into the waves takes courage as the ocean is a great force not to be gone into lightly. Such are my decisions lately...not to be gone into lightly. The ocean is also a force of change as it's waves pound the beach or rock and rearranges, transfigures with it's power.

commentsThis was quite the project. I had been wanting a new gate to tie into the trellis which will eventually be covered in wonderful vines. I wanted whatever person found themselves walking down the pathway to come to the gate with a smile on their face and be glad they had arrived. I wanted it to inspire the lighter side of life and to have a warmth that encouraged a beginning process of relaxing. sitting out in the sun. So that by the time they entered the studio doors and crawled onto my table they were already beginning to transform.
The details-we used some of the existing chain link fence on the left side as you look at the sun, as a base, built a block pillar on the right side to give some stability to the actual gate which is a security door we cut. Then we used rebar, concrete wire, and lath to create our whimsical form. The substance that we used is called flying concrete, it is a light weight concrete mixture that gets troweled onto the lath. The sun was cut out of dense styrofoam and covered with lath and then wired onto the door.
To find out more information go to www.geocities.com/flyingconcret
After the base was built and it cured I had a good friend Kate help me with the painting part, I told her what colors I wanted and so off to the paint store we went to get just the right shades. Then the fun part began as the gate transformed from shades of gray to what you see before you. If you have any more questions please feel free to contact me...

He was interested in what I was doing for Global Art Project 2004 and so I told him to type "Global Art Project" into his browser to find the site. I was checking it out for myself and clicked on your domain site for the first time. This is my 6th year to do the Global Art Project, as I started at the beginning. I like the way you express yourself with your art and your words and about your feelings in relation to what you are doing. I am gifted from time to time by having a poem appear complete in my mind without any effort that I am conscious of on my part. All I have to do is write it down and of course, thank God for the gift! Such a poem appeared to me in March 2003, and for Global Art Project 2004, I have interpreted that poem in collage form, incorporating the words into my work of art. This is an art form I have not really explored before and find it very interesting as well as having ended with what I believe is a pleasing result. I think the Global Art Project is such a worthy cause and I really enjoy doing each and every project. Keep up your good work and thanks for sharing your images and your thoughts and words. Rachel p.s. Don't notify me; but I will check back from time to time as I have time to do so. Thanks.

commentsI love the composition, the choice of objects, the richness of the rose-colored fabric. I can feel its texture in my hands. I am drawn to the wood/vine woman figure. She is stunning. Beautiful work, Mary. Thank you.

comments I usually rally love still life work. I'm a big lover of flowers/fruits. However, I was struck by the richness of the fabric. It outshines any other texture in the piece. There is a palpable, sensual quality to it. I really enjoy looking at it.

Mary, I have a book called "The Herder Dictionary of Symbols" which
you either need to go buy at Borders/Barnes & Noble or I will lend mine to
you. It is a dictionary of symbols from art, archeology mythology, literature
and relgion. In the book, there is a symbol of a triangle with a circle in the
middle- it looks almost exactly like what you have drawn - it has also come up
frequently in some of my own artwork. It is a VERY major symbol & usually
signifies a major shift in understanding/awakening. Do you have your wallet
nearby? Pull out a one dollar bill. Look on the BACK of the one dollar bill on
the LEFT side. see your pyramid with the eye? This is what the govt. has to say
about it:
"In the zenith of an unfinished pyramid on the reverse side of the Great
Seal is "an Eye in a triangle, surrounded with a glory... Over the Eye
these words 'Annuit Coeptis'. This Latin phrase has been traced to Virgil, the
renowned Roman poet who lived in the first century B.C. His epic masterpiece,
the Aeneid, contains the sentence: "Jupiter omnipotens, audacibus annue
coeptis." (All-powerful Jupiter, favor [my] daring undertakings.) Also, in
Virgil's Georgics is: "Da facilem cursum, atque audacibus annue coeptis."
(Give [me] an easy course, and favor [my] daring undertakings.) Charles Thomson
changed the imperative annue to annuit, the third person form of this verb
meaning to favor or approve (in either the present tense or the present perfect
tense). Coeptis means undertakings or endeavors. In the motto Annuit Coeptis,
the subject of the verb must be supplied, (and the translator must also choose
the tense). Thomson explained: "The pyramid signifies Strength and
Duration: the Eye over it & the Motto allude to the many signal
interpositions of providence in favour of the American cause." The Eye is
therefore the missing subject, and the motto translates as: "It (the eye of
Providence) is favorable to our undertakings." Or, as it is now translated
by the U.S. State Department:
"He (God) has favored our undertakings."
In my "Herder Dictionary of Symbols" the deffinition of the
triangle with the eye in the center reads as follows:
"Triangle: the eye in the triangle is a symbol of god. The triangle is
symbolically associated with the number three. (also associated with the holy
trinity). In antiquity it was variously understood as a light symbol. With the
apex pointing upward it is a common symbol of fire and masculine virility; with
the apex pointing downward it is a symbol of water and the female sex. The
equilateral triangle is often usd as a sign of god or harmony. In christianity
it is a trinity symbol, (often, especially since the 17th century, in
conjunction with the hand, head and eye; or the Hebrew name of God Yawheh.) In
folk usage, teh three was an apotropaic sign among magicians and magges - For
the Freemasons (among others) the three symbolizes the strength, beauty, and
wisdom of God; the cornerstone of the Freemason's temple... the three levels of
spiritual development.
You should research some more about this symbol it is really fascinating.
best,
sara

Dear Mary,
These images have always stirred inside
of me.
The colors collectively ring true for this time of year; the oblong shape in the center feels like"Great Spirit" always protecting us through the cacophony of nature and circumstances.
Thank you for your statement of faith!.

commentsDear Mary:
I love the warm feeling of this painting. To me, it feels as though the earth is being craddled and nurtured with love. The messages from the colors are wonderfully representing that in order to truly have peace, we must all reach to spirit for support to receive guidance and healing, as well as remembering our personal responsibility of grounding with solidity on the earth plane for a balanced world. I love that the rays in the upper part of the painting form peace signs. Thanks for sharing your gifts Mary.
Love,

commentsHi Mary,
The vibrant colors immediately made me feel strong, powerful within myself. I see hands holding that Ball of Peace right around the solar plexus chakra. Also there's
a lot of clarity, definition and separateness in the colors yet wholeness & unity as well. This is how I feel when I find inner peace myself.
Thanks for sharing your art.
Love,
Amy

commentsMary,
I loved your Running Energy -- both drawing and writing. It brought so much up for me. I especially relate to the thoughts on your mind that day: "Body Weight" -- a subject I am often ruminating about. Thanks for sharing. I've often felt that counting calories and running laps won't help what needs to be expressed from my soul. I have to meditate on those
deeper issues of holding myself back. Thanks for the spark.
Love,
Beth

excitement. I am spring about to be sprung! Can you see me radiating hope, joy, warmth? New life, new beginnings, new
journeys to take. What path will you travel down this spring? This summer? I am happy to be here, to be alive, to present my self to you. Let me guide you and move with you along the path of newness."
That's what this drawing said to me :-)

Mary,
That is a fun thing to do! -- putting your artwork out without the usually
personal meaning and seeing what comes back. Who knows what will come back for
you! (God does!)

Your energetic red art reminds me of an old-fashioned piece of fabric with a flower on it. It might be a square ready to include in a quilt.
That's what I'm getting now, may add more later.

commentsHi Mary, I just wanted to thank you for sharing this beautiful image and sharing yourself with us. Your painting is very moving and quite a tribute not only to your journey through the grief process, but also to the life of your brother. It is also a difficult road to travel when the one you lose is too young and we don't have the opportunity to say good bye in a physical way. It is up to us to find ways to say good bye on a more spiritual plane and in a way that is meaningful to us. I am also so sorry to hear of Dexter Beasley's passing. He was such a sweetie of a kitty. I know that he wasn't a part of your kitty clan for very long, but you and Doug provided him with a wonderful life and took good care of him. Blessings to you and thanks again for sharing.

commentsMary,
Queen Goddess in her final stages seemed to develop gold wings along with her gold crown. She is beautiful as she lies along the river watching the water flow by. How wonderful that Queen Goddess stayed with you quietly, patiently waiting to be with you in all your stages of grief over the last three years. I hope to see her in real life/in person some day!
Love,
Beth
