About Me

Mary Rush Gravelle

Founder of Wisdom Painting
Mary Rush Gravelle

In 1992, I did my first painting after reading the Artists Way by Julia Cameron. It was such a cathartic experience that I knew immediately I had to share this process with other people.

I began right away giving painting workshops and did variations of this process under different names until I did a one-year intensive study program in 2000 with Aviva Gold, author of Painting from the Source. At that time, I changed the name to Wisdom Painting to better reflect what it was about, tapping into inner wisdom.

During the time between 1992 and 2000, I studied various art healing methods with the New England Art Therapy Institute in Massachusetts and attended painting sessions of  Stuart Cubley, author of Life, Paint, and Passion.
