Title: Prize
and Purpose!
Artist:
Arlene Cyr
Media: Tempera paint on watercolor
paper, 36" x 24"

AKA:
Smorgasbord
of ……Resolution/ Resolve / Mastery /
Courage / Shine/ Finish Line/ Reward/ Bull's-eye/ New Life
This image was painted during a "3rd Sunday"
Wisdom Painting
workshop on Feb. 17th, 2002.
My intention statement was
"I courageously trust the
process of letting go."
Process:
As a
base coat for the painting, I was inspired to try a method I
observed
from a fellow student; that method, is covering the
paper with black paint,
letting it dry, and then adding the
additional colors of choice. I was pleased
with the final result and feel that preparing
the "canvas" in that fashion is
a great way to add
richness or depth to a painting.

Message:
What the image means to me? More than most people could ever imagine.
Taking the step and opening the DOOR to Mary's Wisdom
Painting classes
has given me the missing "charge" to
ignite my artistic passion in a major
way.
The contentment is
magnified more against contrasting
conditions in key areas
of my life.
It's a case of the time being "ripe," and finding
the right teacher/coach.
Two
six-week "Igniting…" classes; three coaching sessions;
and two painting
workshops later, both Teacher and student are
quite pleased with the energy
and spirit that I am generating
from my work in "Wisdom Painting" classes.
Who would have known that my performance of the
"non-verbal expression"
requirement of my painting
would result in such an exhilarated presentation.
Thank you, Mary Gravelle.
Thanks also to my fellow classmates, Terri and Tilda.
