Title:    Healing Heart
Artist:
  Lyn Laudenberger
Media: Mixed media: pastel pencil, gold ink, and glue
                on foam board, 25" x 19"

Process:

This was my final art project for the Igniting Your Intention-Level 1,
which I finished December 2001. My intention was, " I want to create
daily".

The hand, heart, symbols and the 7 chakra colors had all surfaced
throughout the 28 days in my drawings.  I decided to merge them
into one final art piece.

As an artist, I enjoy mixing color with words. The combination can
be quite empowering.  I was inspired by the quote, "what you focus
on expands".  From there I drew a heart expanding with the 7 chakra
colors and a hand touching the center.  I added the energy symbols
as a whimsical touch.  Last came layers upon layers of white tissue
paper to give the piece a muted dream like effect which also created
a lovely, soft texture.

Message:

What the image means to me.  When I began the session, I was an
artist with a creative block.  It was a very profound six weeks of
peeling away layers within myself.  By the end, I realized I was
liberated! In this piece I feel the message is, "through positive
thought we can heal ourselves as well as visualize and manifest
the dreams and desires we have hidden within........... our inner
voice of wisdom is waiting for us."

About My Art:

I have been studying meditation, the power of color, and the
chakras to enhance my creativity and my artistic spirit has taken
flight. This was the first art piece which began my artistic vision.

I am creating healing art.  I use affirmations and quotes that inspire
me, surrounded by a collage of color.  Music supplies a wonderful
vibrational energy and I meditate before beginning each art piece.
The music, thought, words and color combined have a healing energy.
I hope my work will bring light to a person's soul.

My 8x10 healing art  will soon be available at several new age shops
in Connecticut.  I also am interested in doing commissioned work for
anyone who has a quote or affirmation that inspires them.  I can be
contacted via my e-mail address:  flowerpowerlyn@aol.com

In Gratitude:

I would like to acknowledge and thank my classmates, Lorraine and
Sharon for their insight......what a wonderful journey of creativity
we shared each week!

Each month as I enjoy and am continually amazed by the artists and
their artwork Mary displays on her website, I feel we are all so
blessed to have been given this  opportunity to be a part of the various
workshops Mary offers. She empowers our souls.

A very special thank you, Mary Gravelle!

                                      PINK FLUFF
( a poem dedicated to Mary)

                     pink fluff?  it's ok  today,
                     pick a color, any color,
                     dancing fairies, twirling and spinning
                     flinging paint,
painting on paper again and again,
                     we love it,

                     we love you.
pick up a pencil, brush or crayon,

you'll be amazed by what will happen-
whimsical colors will dance for you,
                     listen for the message.

                     there always is one.

                     pure,

                     from the heart.

A note to Lyn:

Dear Lyn,

I am so blessed to have participants like you. Thank you for the poem and all your wonderful words. They have touched me deeply. Pink sparkley tears ran down
my face when I read them. I have been a witness to your opening, blossoming, and fruition of your art ideas. I am honored and so happy for you. Keep partaking of the fluff! It becomes you!

Fondly,

Mary
