Today is my mother's birthday. Her name is Lois Rush and she is 73. In her honor, I post these images.
When she visits me in Connecticut, we like to do art together. We also like to get together with my friend, Allison and her mother, Judy Goodman. On this particular day, we combined both activities and made collages together.
There is something magical about making art together. Unspoken bonds are made binding all parties closer than they were. Remembrances and old connections come about as odd materials are combined into something new. Relationships rekindle and renew themselves in the process, even if only for a flicker of a moment.
Making art together lets us take a private glimpse into others' souls. A glimpse that is only made possible by the art making process.
We had much fun on that day. And as you can see, we were proud of our creations.
