Title: Grounded
in God's "Yes" [Painting]
Artist:
Nancy
McClure Brockett
Medium: Water Color Crayon on paper
Intention statement:
"I land and ground myself in God's 'Yes'."
(Since then I have stated it this way: I ground my life in God's
loving "Yes.")
Bursting Forth
Bursting Out
I can't be contained in this small container any longer.
Bursting Forth power. This is not the end stage. I am in
process.
This is another step-- A growing place.
Don't abandon/leave me now.
Some good times/things are just beginning.
Take care; Care for yourself, Care for me.
Be-----Well, attend to me;
engage with me.
Another step in co-creating our life together.

Artist Statement:
My work is an Expressionism-style handling of vibrant and
intense colors and reflects experiences of inspiration,
transformation, and healing. Each work is a prayer in the sense
that as I paint I am present to God and receptive to connection
with Sacred Presence. My paintings develop in an organic process
that often feels like co-creation, and as I continue to interact
with a piece, more of its meaning unfolds.
In many of my paintings I use watercolor pencils to smooth
and move color from watercolor crayons, creating texture painted
effect. In others, I use a mix of tempera, oil, and watercolor
crayons to produce paintings rich in texture, color, and shape
that draw the viewer into interaction.
In addition to my larger pieces—varying from 8”x10” to
40”x28”—I create hand-painted cards, using the same
techniques and process. I also have museum quality prints of the
original art and printed reproductions of the cards.
My work is made available through Art For You, a division of
Soul Support Companies which I founded in 2002.
