Title:
Waleena
Artist:
by Mary A.
Gravelle
Size/Medium:
Colored Pencil on paper
About this Drawing:
Created on June 24, 2005
Intention Statement: I allow the angels to prosper me NOW!
Pale pink paper for Winnie’s memory -- she was ALL girl! I
tried to draw her face. It looks a little strange.
Drawing's name: Keepsake.
Message:
Keep Winnie’s spirit in your heart always and you will
never need to miss her. Her sweet spirit will always be with
you. Just remember her kindness, sweetness, adoration, beauty,
compassion, and the love you two shared.
The love that you two shared was awesome and deep. As deep as
any love. Constant and true companions were you two. She rests
peacefully now. Know that you both did all you could do. The
body just would not cooperate with either of you.
(I’m seeing the pink stone locket that I once had. Does
that mean she wants me to put her picture in it and wear it?)
Yeah, that would be great and make her very happy.
Wear lots of pink in her memory, pink shirts, skirts,
jewelry, t-shirts. Make a t-shirt of her in pink. Include it on
your Winged Goddess website. She wants to be a part of that.
Shall I give her drawing wings when I include it in the Winged
Goddess website. She would love that! The Winged Beauty Cat:
Waleena. I will be happy to do that. I want to do a painting of
her too. Great. Wonderful.
FAQ and email question from a friend:
How did Waleena get her name?
Her name came from her previous owners who lived behind us.
They thought she was male and named her Waldo. When she decided
to live here, I took her to the vet and they told me she was
female, so I renamed her Waleena. I guess I was respecting part
of her old name in leaving the WAL intact. Talk about mistaken
identity! She was / is totally female!
She had a litter of kitties in my bedroom as one of her first
acts of proving her female gender. It was a beautiful thing and
quite a gift to me now that I think about it.
Journal:
To have to aid Winnie in her death is eerie as well as
honorable. She wanted me to be there, at least 10 minutes
beforehand in quiet time. I held her head while Dr. Zyra did her
thing. The picture of Dr. Zyra standing there waiting for me to
bring Waleena around back is so surreal.
Like she was Dr. Death just waiting to do her duty. She was
very kind about the whole thing. It was nice that they allowed
me take Winnie out back to the picnic area where she could be in
nature for her last moments in physical form. Her head lay on
the grass while the rest of her was wrapped in a pink towel.
Winnie had told Tera (Tera
Thomas, the animal communicator) that the hospital scared
her. She also said that she felt disoriented and afraid. Dr.
Zyra thinks she passed a blood clot down to her legs and caused
her lower body to become paralyzed. Tera thought perhaps it was
a stroke.
Whatever it was, she was suffering. I stayed with her until I
felt her relax. Then Dr. Zyra came out and gave her the shot and
within moments, she was gone. I brought her home where she can
rest in peace for a few days. I know her spirit is gone, but at
least she will know that her body is at home and not over at
that busy noisy hospital.
Winnie, I love you so much. I hope that Whittaker and Dexter
and Tia Maria are greeting you and helping you to cross over
safely and peacefully.
Winnie, thank you for all these years of companionship and
sisterhood. I will truly miss you. Thank you for everything and
your beauty and grace. Your elegant spirit was a jewel and
bright spot in my life. You were and will always remain my Girly
Girl, My Sweet Girl, My Lovey, My Lovey Girl.
Getting old is hard and sad with experiencing so much loss.
It is a part of life and yet it is never easy. I guess it
reinforces the importance of living fully in the moment and
extracting as much joy NOW as you can. In that way, you live
with no regrets. Live deeply and be able and willing to let go
deeply. Letting go deeply seems cruel and hard and cold. I think
what I mean is holding on and the cherishing of the soul and
spirit that has left us with a huge hole and gap of love.
