Title:
Reaching Out
Artist:
Mary
Gravelle
Size/Medium:
Tempera, 40" x 27"
About this Painting:
This painting was created during a week long creativity
workshop held by The New England Art Therapy Institute.
Layers and layers of paint and emotion tumble to create new
existence during growth crisis. Reaching out from center, one
begins to feel the connection to the existence of all.
Turmoil, chaos whooshing, swooshing, organizing. Light
center, grounded, strong during times of transition. Releasing,
reaching out for help, taking in comfort and nurturing.
New growth appears when the storm is over. Beauty is all that
is left to the naked eye. Squinting to see more, more is
revealed behind the scenes of the senses.
What do you see? How do you feel? What are your growth
stages?
