Spring 2002

March 18, 2002

“You are not here merely to make a living. You are here in order to enable the world to live more amply, with greater vision, with a finer spirit of hope and achievement. You are here to enrich the world, and you impoverish yourself if you forget the errand.”

--- Woodrow Wilson

Dear Friends,

A breath of fresh air to ya!

Yellow-green, fresh, new sprouts of spring remind me of new growth and rebirth. Ah…. New life is just around the corner now. I remember and begin to sing along with the birds. Newness, freshness, new life, new beginnings, churning, yearning, stretching, reaching, growing … toward summer. But wait. Relax. Enjoy the journey from spring to summer. Enjoy the now moment and whatever that is for you.

I am not here merely to make a living as the quote says above. I am here to enjoy the journey and inspire others to enjoy their journey. Are you enjoying your journey? Are you enriching your world and the world around you? Are you impoverishing your soul and forgetting the errand as Woodrow Wilson suggests?

Fill your soul with rich journeys made during the art making process. Fill your creative well with personal visions and personal wisdom art. Spilleth your spirit onto the paper with brilliant color. Jump with joy as you see the soul-inspiring images that show up.

Enjoy the magical journey of the season. And, please, join us soon.

Freshness of new life and growth,

Mary Gravelle

PS: Sorry for the long windedness of this newsletter, once I got going, I could not stop. March is known as the windy month, right?

Company News: New Logo

Our look is being updated. I am changing the eagle logo to one that is created by me instead of clipart; although, I have painted the eagle after the image of the clipart eagle I have been using. The eagle logo will continue to evolve. I will be tweaking the design over the next months. So, expect changes in our look, but the same Wisdom Painting and Art is still here, solid. Worry not.

< Inspiring Images – A New Door Has Opened

Coming in April: artwork by Robin McNeely. Robin is from West Virginia. She found our website one night and loved what we stand for and requested that we post her artwork. So, a new door has opened. Past postings have been limited to work created in one of Wisdom Painting and Art’s workshops. Now, we invite other people’s art on our website. The focus will be on spiritually based art, art that has been created from one’s spirit, heart, and soul.

Artists: Think about placing your inspiring artwork on our Website. Call Mary Gravelle at (860) 649-9701 or email mary@wisdompainting.com for information.

Global Art Project (GAP2002: Local Happenings:

March is create-your-work-of-art month for the Global Art Project. Anyone who has registered for this year’s exchange has been invited to my house to create their art piece with other participants. The event is scheduled for Saturday, March 16. Eleven artists, including myself, will participate. Our art will circle the world. We’ll let you know all about it in a later issue.

Connecticut participation is up from the 2000 exchange. Registered are 17 individuals and 12 groups (total people involved in the groups is 199), bringing the Connecticut participation to 216 people! Wow. There were only eight of us in the 2000 exchange. A separate mailing will be mailed with a calendar of events so everyone can view the global unity artwork created by the Connecticut participants.

Wisdom Bit:

This month's Wisdom Bit: What's your question?

Workshop News:

"Co-creation is best understood when we realize that the unfolding dynamics of our lives happen according to the needs of our spirit, and not the wants of our personality." --- Caroline Myss

Free your creative spirit during one of our workshops. Check the Schedule for details. Check the Testimonials page of our website to read how others have freed their creative spirit by attending our workshops.

Speaking of Creative Spirit, I want to share a poem with you that I wrote for Arlene Cyr, whose painting is the subject of our currently posted Inspirational Image.  I also want to dedicate it to Terri Rizzo and Tilda Santiago, who, along with Arlene have pulled me along my teaching path by pioneering Level 2 and Level 3 of Igniting Your Intention. They have also attended many Wisdom Painting sessions along with the Igniting sessions. Thanks, you guys!

The poem is relevant for anyone else who has ignited his or her creative fire and can relate to its verse – I can think of many of the Level One folks – Maria, Lorraine, Lyn, Amy, Beth, Carol Ann, Pam, who else? Let me know if I left you out!

You’ll know you are on creative fire when …

On Creative Fire
By Mary Gravelle

My my ..... You are something else!

 I'd say ...

You are on Fire!
A real live Wire!
Burnin' Hot
Coals to ashes...

Burnin' bright
To all who will witness
The magnificence
Of your Being....

Outstretched
Bursting wide open
Gushing forth
Volcanic ash
Lava rolling down
Stream

 Look out world....

In a heated flash
You'll see her
Fire, live wire, hot...
Burnin' bright
For all to see
For all to see...

Gee.

You go, Girl
You go.

Ignite on.

Igniting Your Intention: Level 3 Rollout: April 23

Terri Rizzo, Tilda Santiago, and Arlene Cyr have just completed Level 2. They found it to be both challenging and rewarding. They have requested me to launch Level 3 to "keep the good thing going".

What the Igniting Levels are about:

Level 1 is about learning how to tap into your creative powers and abilities from your personal well of creative energies to allow co-creation with divine energies. Learn to let the creations flow through you, learning the dance of letting go of product and mind in favor of process and intuition.

Level 2 asks you to deepen Trust -- trust in yourself, trust in life unfolding as it should, trust in divine energies, trust in the creative process, trust in your life's process, let go, and use everything at your disposal.

Level 3 teaches discernment, choice, what to keep, what to let go of, and seeking outside help.

Each level builds upon the last. Get started today in Level 1 if you have not embarked upon this potent tool for self-discovery. Sign up for Level 2 if you have already completed Level 1.

Begin Igniting your creative spark today. Check the Schedule and register now. Enrich the world by enriching yourself.

< Igniting -- Mini Sessions

A mini session was held during a recent Blessing Way for Amy Sax and Baby Boy Luke. She found the session to be a powerful connective and healing agent in igniting her intention for this next phase in her life. She reproduced the images and writing in a beautiful inspiring booklet for each attendee. It was amazing how the process is capable of opening each person to their divine inner core touching deep aspects that are as universal as they are personal. Mini sessions are between one and two hours. They are good for any group who wants to focus on some aspect or theme. Some ideas of how to include a mini igniting session in your work or personal life: sales or marketing meetings, any seminar or meeting as a creative activity that will ignite the attendees, birthday parties, women’s groups, men’s groups, etc.
