Happy summer.
On a recent trip to New York City with friends, I bought the above book at the Whitney Museum. The term, art spirit, says it all, don't you think? The spirit of the art making process weaves itself throughout Wisdom Painting and Art's everyday functioning and offerings. The art spirit invites you to be the creator of your life that is your birthright. We are all creators and the art making process can teach you much. Where is your life on the canvas of everyday living? Is it a blank white canvas open for new possibilities? Is it a canvas full of meanderings and seemingly no room left for more design? There is always more to it than meets the eye on the surface. Go deeper and join us soon. Let the spirit of the art making process breath new life into you today.

Generations Gold
Wisdom Painting and Art has become a merchant member of the Generations Gold club through Tolland Bank. Generations Gold checking account members can use their card to save money when purchasing workshops and coaching from Wisdom Painting and Art. We recently exhibited our information in the bank lobby. Another exhibit will be displayed in the fall.
New Brochure
Enclosed you will find our new company brochure, in full color, which
describes all our options for helping you along your self-discovery path. Feel
free to ask for additional brochures to post in places where people gather who
might benefit from our services.
Rate Increase As Of September 1, 2002
As I have been posting my flyers and brochures around the area, I have noticed that my rates are pretty low in comparison to what others are charging for similar services. As of September 1st, my rates will go up. Coaching rates have already been increased to $60 per hour. All new coaching clients as of September 1st will be charged $65.00 per hour.
Igniting Your Intention workshops will be increased to $160.00 plus materials. Wisdom Painting sessions will remain at the same rate for now.
New Cancellation Policy
A new cancellation policy is effective immediately. Anyone canceling any of our sessions within 24 hours prior to our appointment or workshop will be charged the full amount of the missed appointment. If you need to reschedule an appointment for any reason, please call as soon as possible.

Please order your goods beforehand so you don’t miss out. Grace and Ease, who looks like an alien to some, brings gifts of grace and ease into your day. Do you have drawings, paintings, or designs that you would like to see on T-shirts and more? Would you like your very own store on-line where people can go to buy your stuff?
Doing it yourself: First, you will need a
computer graphic of your design, in .JPG format. Use a scanner or take a picture
of your design and get it developed onto a CD. Then go to www.cafepress.com
and open up your store. It’s easy, just follow the instructions on the

Igniting Your Intention
Terri Rizzo, who has completed all three levels of Igniting Your Intention, shares her experience with you.
IGNITING TRILOGY: BLENDS BODY,
MIND & SPIRIT

IGNITING I "BE IN THE MOMENT" -- It does this by getting you past your personal and professional fears and blocks. It is a healing experience consciously and subconsciously. This happens simultaneously because you are unleashing the artist within. Then it brings her/him to the surface to create the life you were meant to live. Only now can the true creative process begin.
IGNITING II "RELEASE AND LET GO" -- Now you've brought your fears and blocks to the surface. It's time to face them so that you can release and let go of them. This allows the creative process to flow.
IGNITING III "DISCERNMENT OF THE CREATIVE PROCESS" -- You get to the point where you automatically stand back and look at your life/work and intuitively know what you need and what you don't need. This helps you find your passion, which will drive you to your soul's path -- personally, professionally, and spiritually.
BURIED
TREASURE LIES WITHIN
I took Igniting I to overcome a professional block and was shocked to see other results. It overcame personal, professional, and spiritual blocks. Then I got blocked in my personal life and took Igniting II. It was well worth it because it took me deeper into the process. I couldn’t wait to take Igniting III to see what else would happen.
Igniting III took me past my expectations personally, professionally, and spiritually. It blended head, heart, mind, body, soul, and spirit. This gave me a new approach to life by breaking old patterns and establishing new ones. It got me to the right place with a brand new perspective on how to live, love, work, and be happy.
[The Igniting Process] has been a process of transformation that has gotten me to realize all is within. From Igniting I to Igniting III, I’ve been evolving to the kind of person I was meant to be and the kind of life I was meant to have. After getting past the fears and blocks, all I needed to do was to just “BE”.
Furthermore, by incorporating the Wisdom Painting sessions along with the Igniting sessions, I found I blended intuition with discernment to create my art. Also, the more I nurtured myself, I nurtured my art and vice versa. As part of the process, I accidentally came to realize that getting out of my own way meant I was going too strong. I needed to rest and focus on me. I could do this for the rest of my life anytime I got sick and/or blocked. My art was spilling over into my life and my life into my art. I became comfortable in my own skin.

Wisdom Painting -- Full Day Workshops
Our full day painting sessions will continue. These will be held the Saturday before the 3rd Sunday sessions; i.e. the 3rd Saturday. Sunday painters realize that they could have painted longer. Now they can. Combine the full day of Saturday with the Sunday session to make an entire weekend of painting for only $95.00.
Paint Like Pollack was a Blast!
At the request of Igniting student, Lorraine Russo, we held a “Paint Like Jackson Pollack” workshop. It was held on June 24, Lorraine’s birthday. We had a blast flinging, throwing, dripping, and splattering paint to our heart’s content. Watch our website for pictures.
Wisdom of Art Coaching:
Now is the time to begin activating the rest of your life. Sign up now at the $60 rate and continue paying that rate as long as there are no gaps in your scheduled sessions. A good way to start is to commit to four weekly sessions. All new clients as of September 1st will be charged at the $65.00 per hour rate.

Preserving your Wisdom Paintings
Many people leave the painting sessions loving their paintings. Since we use tempera paints, which are water based, and non-permanent, we need to use special measures in preserving them.
There are several options:
1. Frame them under glass. I have paintings that I have framed under glass and they are just fine. I like the look of the velvety finish of the paint without taking further measures of permanency. Yeah, not really art world value, but who cares?
2. Spray them with a spray varnish or fixative. I like “blair no odor spray fix”. It does not change the appearance as much as other spray fixatives.
3. Use a liquid medium and brush it on with a soft bristle brush that is dedicated to varnishing. I offer a little word of caution here. Since these are water-based varnishes, sometimes they have a tendency to bleed colors into each other. Take a little extra care and brush the varnish over light colors first, and work your way to the darkest colors, drying each coat before proceeding. The varnishes that I use are made by Liquitex and some artists prefer the Golden brand. Take your pick of these: Gloss Permanent Varnish, Matte Permanent Varnish (tends to bleed more than the gloss), Gloss Medium & Varnish, Acrylic Gel Medium (a heavy weight paste as opposed to the liquids just mentioned).
Experiment and find what feels right for you. Enjoy your paintings for many years to come.
