Your website and email look extremely professional – and of course beautiful! Way to go Mary. Jen

"The artwork put up is often healing for me when I take the time to respond to it. The art often supports the growth that I'm experiencing in my life. I know that this is what your site and work is all about. It's such a helpful tool. Since "we are all one" I figure that everyone who views the artwork on your site and responds is experiencing some sort of healing & growth.

Hello!
Your new work is amazing, sooo beautiful, it makes me feel like going there right now!
All the best for the exhibit, be well, much love, Delia.

HI Mary, You are amazing and help many people with your insight, wisdom, and love for painting with much expression. Hope all is well with you. Warmest Regards, Maria

Dear Mary, What's new is I've been learning to play the harp for the last two years, part of a program with the Chalice of Repose, in contemplative musicianship and music thanatology. I began this before finding out in the last year that my husband became incapacitated with the horrendous disease called ALS and is now wheelchairbound and using a breathing machine 24/7, though indomitable spirit that he is, he continues to go to work. So it has been quite an emotional roller coaster and seeing your paintings and hearing from friends that I've gotta take good care of myself and get back to what gives me joy ie. painting, I feel inspired again. Bless you and your wonderful spirit. NW

Hi Mary, It's me, Mary, your Elizabeth Park friend! Just wanted to let you know that I am so happy to be receiving your website emails to see what you are doing. My goodness! In such a short time you have taken quantum leaps! I just love the paintings you are doing now. The colors are so vivid and the way you capture the view is so alive. I am so proud of you. All the photographs of you seem to brim with your joyousness. I admire your adventure and bravery. The only earrings I wear are the angels I bought from you. I think of you every time they are worn. A lady at whole foods loved them. Do you still sell them? If yes, if you could tell me how to find them in your website, perhaps I could forward the info to her and get you a sale. (Winged Goddess website: http://www.storesonline.com/site/943436/product/Well-E186) The article from the newspaper was great. The Artist Way saved my life when I read it and did the exercises. Mary, doing the artist date and thinking about synchronicity (spelling?) made me soar with happiness. So I just wanted to say hi and congratulate you on your accomplishments. It was a gift crossing paths with you. All the best, Mary Dinneen

Dear Mary, Your paintings are glorious! Your new life you have chosen and taken in hand is inspiring!

Wisdom Painting

Mary ~ I got my painting up on the wall as soon as I got home and lo and behold it's not like anything that anyone said about it!!! It's exciting..............it's like pure ecstatic flames of passion and boundless energy and JOY!!!!! My girlfriend said it's so hot that if I don't get it under some cool glass soon it might just burn up the paper it's on!!! Ha! Ha! It could ignite the spiritually dead and excite the sexually dormant with just one look..............thanx again - I had fun!! Big Hug!!! TB

Anonymous participants:

“Mary--Thank you. I needed to do this more than I ever could have realized. Fabulous learning experience. Again, thanks.”

“It ... gave me the pathway to continue with pride and confidence.”

“Experience was a growing one.”

“Safe space to stretch beyond what’s comfortable and gentle push to do it.”

"...contained more for me personally than I thought I might gain. I felt the experience as a whole helped me to connect with my painting (which isn’t finished) and connect to my gut. … Four hours is pretty quick, amazingly enough, and I could have painted longer.”

Coaching

"Mary Gravelle's gentle style and expansive techniques were integral to my success in making a significant life change. And she followed that life transition through to completion: She helped me to celebrate. The celebration -- as significant as the progression toward it -- was a powerful lesson in self-recognition and gratitude.

But Mary is more than a coach. She holds the mirror that reflects your strength and wisdom; she fans the fire of faith when you think you've none left; and she gives you permission to live your truth, helping you to keep the promises you made to yourself long ago.

She is the Keeper of Dreams, the Primer of Possibility, and the Realization of Something More.

Igniting your Intention

HI Mary, I loved your class Igniting you intention I took I think three years or more ago. Just wanted you to know that I still feel the positive effects to this day that the class taught me. You are amazing and help many people with your insight, wisdom, and love for painting with much expression. Hope all is well with you. Warmest Regards, Maria

Nancy Brockett ....

Mary,

I remember what I was experiencing two springs ago -- a hopelessness that there would ever be a change. And you held the vision for me and had a faith that I couldn't muster.

I gained so much ground through the igniting series and value the depth to which you encouraged me to go. One of the paintings in the show is based on a sketch that I did with an intention statement in our December meetings.

I am very grateful for your companionship along my journey and hope that you feel proud of your part in bringing my life forward.

Love,
Nancy

Allison Harkins ....

Mary, as a post-script to my igniting work...I bought the book by Mike Hernaki and have started reading that. What a great inspiration and also what a great fit into so many passages I wrote during our 28 days together!! "Are you willing to do whatever it takes..." my goal currently is to begin doing illustration work and working on a children's book, (or two).

There is a class at MCC in continuing ed. on writing and illustrating children's books that I am GOING TO REGISTER FOR! Being willing to do whatever it takes for this 4 week course has meant for me opening my mouth and asking my employer if I can rearrange my schedule, (the class meets Tuesday mornings), they said "yes". My next "doing whatever it takes step" is signing up and sending in my money. I am very excited.

I don't know if I could have had the inspiration for my stories or the added intention of moving forward with this dream of writing/illustrating a book if I hadn't taken the "Igniting" workshop with you. I truly feel as if another door is opening. Now I just have to walk through it. Thank you!

"I found the process to be profound and gained many insights into myself from the Igniting process. The drawings really do talk to you if you listen and will give you messages that you need to hear. Perhaps even some that you don't WANT to hear, but must. ... The igniting session gave me a feeling of power and direction."

Mary Kay McDermott .... Kudos For Wisdom Painting! (Igniting Your Intention)

Who would’ve thought that picking up a blue crayon after breakfast could lead to such inspiration and insight? The steps that Mary Gravelle’s Wisdom Painting Process (Igniting Your Intention) incorporate make the practice of “picking up the blue crayon,” a truly meaningful exercise. I feel the Wisdom Painting (Igniting Your Intention) class has opened my creative channels. It has helped me to better know myself, and where my heart yearns to go.

Beth Sax ....

I participated in my first Mary Gravelle Igniting Your Intention session in September 2001. My sister had raved about her recent session which helped her to accomplish one big intention in life -- starting a family -- she got pregnant!

I decided to gather and host an Igniting group in Greenwich just following the September 11 terrorist attacks. The 6-week Igniting session was therapeutic for me at the time and continues to help me (I started another 28-day session!). I was so happy to host Mary's session in my studio space so that I could connect her with people in my neighborhood who really wanted to access Mary's talents and experience.

Each day during the 28-day session, I can't wait to sit down with colored paper and crayons to see what will come out of my hand, my heart, my spirit. Then sharing my drawings, one night a week, with a supportive group is helpful. It is amazing that more than one of my drawings actually appeared in my life. This is similar to The Artist's Way's journaling of "morning pages" only better because you add color/drawing with crayons! I recommend this for anyone who wants work on themselves.

Mary Gravelle is the perfect leader for the Igniting session. She trusts her intuition to guide the group in a quiet and sometimes quirky way. Mary is a combination of wise woman, art teacher, coach, and therapist.

Maria Notarile ....

"THANK YOU MARY for a magical journey of self-discovery! Each day of the process felt like a treasure-hunt in my soul and the cohesive whole is helping me create a map of the paths leading to my dreams and goals.

The mind mapping has given me incredible power over the whirlwind of thoughts and ideas in my head! The concept of picking out the easiest from the list is such a great way to boost my confidence and abolish the feeling of being overwhelmed.

I'm looking forward to our reunion party sometime in Dec...keep me posted on that and whatever new workshops you have coming up!"

Teresa Pecora .... (a.k.a. Terri Rizzo)

"Mary’s Igniting your Intention course takes you deep into your soul’s heart of hearts to begin your journey homeward to your authentic self, which belongs to no one but you. Then you slowly gravitate toward your heart’s desired emotion of love. Feeling your expectancy drop down, you reach a turning point in your process. It teaches you to go below your subjective surface feelings to trust your deeper intuitive state of being.

It is a journey of extraordinary delights and surprises. It is time to take brains out and think from your inner self. Then you can relax and allow yourself to be guided by your intuition into your heart’s desire. It’s a wonderful journey and a spectacular ride of emotional joy. Mary opens up avenues in your heart of hearts you never knew existed. Your inner self is awakened by thoughtful, provoking sessions toward whatever goal you choose to achieve. Your innermost goals will be brought up to the surface so that you can begin believing in yourself. Then you can continue on your journey so that you are now aware of your soul’s goals, power, beliefs, and knowledge in this lifetime.
This Igniting Your Intention process led me to and through many breakthroughs and revelations above and beyond the goals I had set for myself. My joy at finally achieving goals I’ve had for years was an incredible feeling of fulfillment.

This process helps you see what you can’t see and to believe in it. This experience is unique. Enjoy it."

"I think your work is so incredible & inspiring … I loved your class Mary. It is such a powerful process. The class/process has drudged up so much that I am having tiny realizations here and there that I know are a result of our work. It's almost overwhelming."

Kim Beaumont .....

“My intention statement was “I am an accomplished artist”. In acknowledging this, drawing and writing for 28 days, I brought about what my spirit already knew - I am. I became my intention. Now I have plans to purchase a professional easel/table and chair, to build a sanctuary above the garage, facing my best direction, over the woods and lake - where I may exist as an artist. And, I take ownership of that title, separate to being mother, wife and homemaker…I feel pride and relief.”
